FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORRANCE, Calif. (Mar. 8, 2005) - In the past, nitrous systems have been a simple on-off function, producing horsepower - or not. But with the new, ultra-compact Edelbrock Progressive Nitrous Controller (#71900), you now can have total control over your nitrous systems.

Slightly larger than a pack of cigarettes (4" tall x 4.7" wide x 1.125" thick) and weighing less than a pound, the Progressive Nitrous Controller works great for both automotive and motorcycle applications.

The system utilizes pulse width modulation to regulate the amount of nitrous being delivered over a specific period of time with the nitrous and fuel solenoids. The digital display is easy to read and precise, while the touch switch programming is extremely user-friendly.

#71900 offers you the ability to select and individually program the nitrous parameters to optimize traction and chassis control, as well as ramping up your nitrous safety system. The end result is quicker ETs and less engine and chassis abuse.

Other highlights of Edelbrock's Progressive Nitrous Controller include:

  • Full digital circuitry, which offers precision control that analog systems can't match.
  • A nitrous starting percentage and final percentage that controls the initial and final nitrous hit from 10 percent to100 percent
  • An intelligent nitrous progressive timer that monitors the activation input and can be configured to hold and wait or reset with gear changes.
  • A +12-volt timer output that provides activation control over an ignition retard controller or a second stage of nitrous.
  • A nitrous power ramp build time that effectively allows you to time how quickly you want to ramp your nitrous system from the starting to final percentage in .200 - 9.900 seconds.
  • A nitrous delay timer programmable from .200 - 9.900 seconds
  • A sophisticated non-volatile flash memory that doesn't require a battery or power to retain your settings until you want to change them.
  • An integrated battery voltage monitor that periodically displays battery voltage.
  • A single or dual ramp feature that offers the option of stair-stepping the nitrous build time and percentage to control a single-stage nitrous system in two levels.
