- Steve Johnson Named Director of Motorsports at Edelbrock
TORRANCE, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2003) – Well known racing rep Steve Johnson is the new director of motorsports at Edelbrock, it was announced today by Edelbrock CEO/President Vic Edelbrock.

Our reputation for quality-built products can certainly be traced back to the track. Steve will be an ideal liaison between us and the racers and engine builders. Johnson, 39, is certainly familiar with race tracks and drag strips. He spent the last seven-plus years repping Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) at race events, and before that he raced Pro Modified and Pro Street Cars where he was ranked in the top ten in Pro Modified, finishing fifth in 1993 and seventh in 1995.
According to Edelbrock, Johnson’s duties will include representing Edelbrock and Russell Performance at 30-plus race events around the country, working in the pits with the racers and assisting them with nitrous tuning and other Edelbrock/Russell race products. “Edelbrock and racing go back more than 50 years,” Johnson said. “All racers know and trust Edelbrock products. This is a dream job for me, being the link between Edelbrock and the racers and engine builders. I’ll be the ears for the racer and the mouth to the manufacturer.”
