Tom Jenkins Named Director Of Motorsports At Edelbrock

TORRANCE, Calif. (April 8, 2002) – Industry veteran Tom Jenkins is the new director of motorsports at Edelbrock, it was announced today by Edelbrock CEO/President Vic Edelbrock.

"Racing is the bedrock of Edelbrock. It’s what we built our reputation and quality products on. They all evolve from the racetrack," said Edelbrock. I’d like to welcome Tom to the ‘Fun Team.’ We’re excited to have a savvy technical factory person handling our motorsports department."

According to Edelbrock, Jenkins duties will include representing Edelbrock and Russell Performance at race events around the country. Jenkins responsibilities will include working in the pits with the racers, assisting them with Edelbrock/Russell products. "I’m very fortunate to be a member of the such a legendary company," Jenkins said. "When it comes to racing and performance, Edelbrock is ranked No. 1."

Jenkins should know. He’s been in the performance aftermarket industry for more than 30 years. He was a race technician with Monroe’s shock division, working circuits such as the NASCAR/Winston Cup tour, Indy 500/USAC and NHRA. Jenkins was instrumental with the development of the DFI fuel-injection system while working for ACCEL/Mr. Gasket. He did a stint with Fel-Pro, and most recently was with Holley, as director of Motorsports.
